Sopranos (Spoilers)
Was the ending brilliant, disappointing, or just plain nerve-racking? I actually think it was pretty brilliant. It's only been over for a little over an hour, and I already see alot of people saying "what the fuck was that?," etc., on their blogs, though... that's not surprising at all, given how it ended.
But I thought it pretty much kept with the spirit of the show. The show's success largely lied in the fact that pretty much anyone could get whacked at any time, so of course everyone was wondering whether Tony would die or not... And we were all prepared for pretty much any ending... so the only way to surprise was to not let us know at all, give us a sort of a Lady or the Tiger ending... Who would have thought a scene where pretty much nothing happens other than a family meeting at a diner, some shots of other people eating and walking around and the such, Meadow trying to parallel park, all set to "Don't Stop Believin'"... could be so tense?
Kudos, Sopranos. Well played.
