I'm no fan of Allen, but I think the whole question of whether his mom was born Jewish has been covered entirely wrong, and I don't think his comments equal "intolerance."
"Intolerance" might be the wrong word, it's not on the same level as Mel Gibson, and it's not even on the same level as Allen's own "macaca" and "welcome to America" comments.
But the issue isn't whether his mother was born Jewish, it's his reaction to the question. As I said in an earlier post, I thought it was inappropriate to even ask whether his mother was Jewish, but his reaction was to say the person who asked the question was "making aspersions," in other words, insulting him. In general, he has gone out of the way to hype his mother's Christianity but pretends he didn't even know his mom has Jewish roots.
Since my last post on the matter, Allen has gone on to say... "the question, the assertion, the offensive remarks that your mother taught you this slur, and that somehow it's because ... either she or her father was Jewish."
Again, this all seems to becoming his mind. I've never seen anyone besides Allen himself make the accusation that having some Jewsih heritage is a bad thing.
Whether he actually doesn't like Jews, whether he is pandering to an anti-semetic base, or whether he is simply trying to cast himself as a victim....

You are scraping the bottom of the barrel. This is what happens when you haven't anything of substance to talk about. Desperation does this i guess.

This doesn't make Allen look good.
