Ken Lay is Dead

Enron founder Ken Lay is dead at 64.

And interesting choice of words Fox News is using to describe his death.

Vilified? Really? Let's see what dictionary.com has to say about that.

vil·i·fy ( P ) Pronunciation Key (vl-f)
tr.v. vil·i·fied, vil·i·fy·ing, vil·i·fies
To make vicious and defamatory statements about. See Synonyms at malign.

That's right, according to Fox News, Ken Lay was defamed and maligned. That's about right.

i don't buy it.
there's no official word that he's dead, just from a family spokesman. i think he's on the lam to avoid jail time. this way he gets to live the life, especially away from that wife of his, and watch as the wingnuts extoll him as a martyr of capitalism.

before i believe he's dead, i'll want to see the body, check the fingerprints, the dental records, the dna.

Sorry, had to remove the last comment because I hit enter too soon.

Even if Ken Lay isn't really dead, it's nonetheless amusing to see that Fox News does not speak English.

Then again, maybe it's because most of its viewing audience does not know that "vilified" has nothing to do with "villainous."
