So Florida gets to play Ohio State....

Florida vs. Ohio State for the national championship. What do I think?

Ok, stop me if you've heard this one.... College football is all messed up and the BCS is a bunch of crap.

Do I think Florida deserves a chance to play for the national championship? Yes, but so do Michigan and a bunch of other teams. The only solution is a tournament, and the only realistic way for this to work is an 8 team tournament.

So let's break this down, school by school, teams that got screwed by the BCS.

Michigan - Obviously, the most screwed of them all. I think they deserved the chance to play Ohio State again. This is no dis to Florida... as I said the whole system is messed up and it can't be fixed without a tournament. But if there are a bunch of one loss teams, and one of them only lost to the #1 team in the country by three points, that's the one that deserves to play in the national championship game.

Wisconsin - Wisconsin lost one game all year, and it was to the team that ended up as the #3 team in the country. And not only do they not get to play for the national championship, they don't even get to play in a BCS bowl. Wisconsin got majorly screwed by a BCS rule that limits itself to two teams per conference. Even worse, freakin' NOTRE DAME got their spot.

Boise State - Hmmm.... I might have to take back what I said about Michigan. I don't care what conference they play in, any undefeated team deserves a chance at the national title.

Louisville - One loss, to Rutgers. Rutgers ended up the season as #17, and Louisville lost by only 3 points. And they get no chance at a national title.

Those are the main teams that got screwed.... There should be an 8 team tournament, and 6 of the spots should got to Ohio State, Florida, Michigan, Wisconsin, Boise State, and Louisville. Two other lucky teams get a shot too... probably LSU and USC but arguments could be made for other schools as well.

But we don't really need to do this. NEXT year the BCS will work great and will be controversy free. Right? Right?!?!?!?!
